The Road

Since Oprah recommended Cormac McCarthy's The Road, I figured it must be a departure from his usual bleak, dark and moving fiction. I was so wrong. This book is engrossing and stark. The landscape of the charred earth with stay in your minds eye long after you finish the book. The simple premise of the plot leads to dark and irksome questions about what moral turns the human race might take when pushed to brink of extinction. Read this book.
